Welcome to the Making of you. I'm Alexandria, founder of the Mastery Project and Your Transformation Hub. And this podcast is dedicated to understanding the whys and ways to transform the mundane into the magical, doable into enjoyable, successful, and purposeful, all while enjoying yourself, becoming the architect of your own life.
Okay, today's episode is Five Ways and Whys. Faith isn't blind.
Wow. Faith is a very big concept, a very big subject there to be discussing, but I'm just going to be focusing on understanding what faith is on a daily basis. And my number one is that our world is made up of immaterial and material assets. So our immaterial assets are things like compassion, joy, discernment, and faith. And I believe that these immaterial assets in our day and age, in the becoming and transformation from old paradigm to new paradigm, we're going to be seeing the immaterial assets becoming more and more valuable to people as everyone gets to choose and use consciously and also see the quality and difference in their lives when they incorporate that immaterial asset into their daily experience.
So what does it mean to have faith? Well, for me, having faith can mean that you are also religious, but I believe the state of faith is originally and uniquely associated with each person.
So my faith is different to your faith. And the degree to which we have faith is a function of the choices and perspectives that we hold. Of course, it can also be resisted by our limiting self, our ego. And so it's a journey to develop the mastery of any spiritual asset or any immaterial asset. And faith, of course, is no different.
So for some people, faith is also a state of being. I think that is also very much helping you understand how to use it. You're being with faith.
But also it is definitely something that, of course, other people can demonstrate in your daily life, in your environment, and you can say, hey, that person's got faith. And also that you can see, of course, how you have faith in yourself.
So my number one is faith isn't necessarily. If someone said to you, do you have faith? That doesn't mean to say, are you subscribed to a particular religion? For me, faith simply means, do you believe in the unlimited immaterial nature of our universe?
You might say, do you have a concept of all-there-is or a power that is, including us, part of our divine spark, but there's a greater sort of divine collage of which we are all a part? Or do you believe that all we've got is materiality and that's it?
So faith is definitely about what you believe, how big your life canvas is, how big you want to see yourself becoming as you evolve in your humanity, your uniqueness and your individuality.
So, number two, why have people said that faith is blind?
Well, my first point to answer that question is because faith is immaterial. A lot of our world for hundreds of years has considered that the immaterial is basically without form, and therefore it's a bit sort of useless or it doesn't really have any huge value.
So the humanity has got very busy about putting value outside itself in material, in form.
And that materiality has often become more valuable than the inner assets and the immaterial aspects in our life. I personally believe now that we are going through our old paradigm, new paradigm shift, that the sort of circle has come full circle, and that we are all now to be moving into appreciating the immaterial as much as the material.
And so my number two is that our intellect, our ego, our limited self, the self that only really lives for the physical. So what we do, what we accrue, you know, how much money we've got, how many possessions we have, all of the physical sort of sex, drugs and rock and roll of our human existence, that is the domain of our limited self or our ego.
So our ego doesn't really like anything that it can't define, that it can't nail down, that it can't actually understand.
So the immaterial is a real challenge to our ego. And so what our ego normally does is polarize. It drags us out of our balance point, our center, and it drags us to either being a victim of faith, so being a victim of the immaterial assets, or the requirement that we become kind of a tyrant or a controller of these immaterial aspects.
And so we become sort of swinging between victim and tyrant, and we lose perhaps our natural connection with faith, which is all about harmony and balance.
So what happens? Well, the intellect judges that faith isn't very useful or that faith equals that you are in a passive state. You're a victim of your beliefs, you're seeing the real picture. You're not seeing perhaps the physical implications.
It can also be that the faith aspect means you're gullible, means you're stupid, means you'll believe anything, and that you can be easily led.
So for my number two, I always say to people, you don't need to listen to polarized perspectives because generally they're further and further from your center, further and further from loving consciousness. And guess what? They don't help much. And also what is the primary aspect with any of your spiritual tools, with your immaterial assets is that you have a choice. And so you can choose how you are being with faith. You can choose your experience of utilizing faith in your daily life.
So if you believe something and you are resonant with it, then it is worthy of exploring, it's worthy of going on that journey, applying it and wisdom harvesting what that will do if you have faith in it. And of course the faith aspect starts from within with the choices that we make.
So just because ego says, oh, faith is just makes you gullible, you can turn to ego and simply say, I always have a choice. My free will is paramount. And so if I think something's fake, if I think it's suspect, if I think it's simply the appearance of rather than an authentic reality, then I'm going to that and I'm going to have faith in myself that my choices are going to help me move on that journey of understanding and wisdom harvesting.
And I'm not going to be sucked in by a judgmental or very polarized perspective on an immaterial asset. Just because it's immaterial doesn't mean to say it's not useful.
So ego does love to criticize faith and it loves to discredit it for us because basically we're going to spend more time in balance, more time in developing our magical and immaterial capabilities.
And of course that means less time with our ego, less time limiting ourselves, and in general less of the energy that ego would love to use is going to come ego's way.
Alrighty, so number three, well, why has faith and religion sort of been synonymous in our history? Why have they come together?
Well, personally I believe that faith is all about our capacity to believe. Now that can be first and foremost believing in loving consciousness. So believing in our divine spark and our connectedness. And so we as humans, of course we want to also have some kind of physical experience or some kind of examples in our daily life, in our physical world in order to help us with our path of discovery and exploration. And how do we use faith and what it faith do for us in the sense of how does it support our journey forward.
So religions, I personally believe have been developed over our time by very important figures who have explored faith and have gone out and said, I want to discover what the unknown can do, can be, what I can co create with the unknown. And I want to discover the path that returns us all to a balanced harmonious unconditionally loving state.
And so religion has become all those different paths. If you imagine a circle, religions have become all of the paths that are at different angles on the circle going into the center.
So if you say, oh, I'm not religious, I don't have a faith, please remember that doesn't mean that you don't have faith as an immaterial asset. You do, of course you can choose not to use it. But the faith in the immaterial, the faith in everything, in your well being, a co creation is extremely important in your creativity. So you might say, oh no, I love religion. Because all of the great religious texts are showing us how we can walk this path of discovery about loving consciousness and how we can be harmonious and really enjoy our life here on many levels, in many dimensions, not just our humanness. And we can transcend struggle. Yes, of course that is the case. But equally, faith starts within so we can incorporate the wisdoms that we have in the external world and the examples of others.
But those others aren't going to do it for us. And I think for a lot of people, they reject religion simply because they see religion as choosing for them or that religion is a set of rules of which they have to be a part of rather than a set of learnings or a set of mentoring guidelines that they can adapt through their own choices and their own specific faith.
So my number three is please don't knock back faith, please don't go, I don't want any faith. Because you associate it with religion. Understand that faith is a state of being that you principally have and you have the choice to use it or not. So when you're saying I have faith in myself, you're saying I am joining in that journey of discovering what unconditional love, what abundance, what prosperity, what creativity and co creation is all about.
And of course we need faith in that process because to make an authentic shift or change, we're going to be stepping beyond what we've already known. We're going to step out the cube, out of our comfort zone and into one step at the very minimum of unknown before our reality starts to should we say rebirth or come alive in whatever new leap of faith or whatever newness that we've chosen.
So to reject faith can cause yourself issues in your own energy because you're rejecting your capacity to be able to co create with the unknown.
Alrighty, so number four. Well for a lot of people blind faith is about intolerance or a lack of acceptance or a desire to basically say One faith is better than the other. And for me, that is all ego, all right? It's got nothing to do with the essential nature of faith. The essential nature is non judgmental, it's neutral. And it's a state of being where you are capable, as I've said, in channeling your unconditionally loving connection, your energetic infinite potential, and of course choosing to put that into whatever you want to. So it's simply a case when there are conflicts with, for example, religion or with spiritual ideologies. It's simply to say that if it's all love, hey, everyone is entitled to their path, everyone's entitled to their opinion, but it is basically ego that's going to be behind fueling the degree of mine's right and yours wrong, for example, or the attempt to polarize and to make one particular way the only way.
So a lot of people can see faith as being blind when it gets dragged by ego into extreme definitions or extreme circumstances when it's not really listening or supporting anything else.
So for me, I simply say to people, you don't have to choose that path, you don't have to be that person and you don't have to have that relationship. With faith, you can have one of balance and harmony with your heart, mind alignment in the center of yourself.
Alrighty, so my last point today, number five, what do I think faith does for your vision? Well, I think faith can really help you with your creative process, as I've mentioned, and I do believe it is a way to sustain people through transformations in their lives that can take longer than they anticipated.
A lot of our time when our expectations aren't met, faith can be a very lovely backup, if you will, as a state of being to gain patience, resilience and the ability to allow the old or passing paradigm of our lives, passing reality, to transform and create the energy for our new paradigm and our new reality. So having faith in that transition position, I believe is incredibly supportive. And all we need to do is choose and reach for that tool and then apply it and it's ours.
Okay, so if you have enjoyed this episode today, I hope you've had a bit of a laugh or an introspection about yourself or a sense of yay, I can accept faith and I don't need to be told what to do by other religion.
