Welcome to the making of you. This is episode 46 and I'm Alexandria, the founder of your transformation hub and the Mastery project. And today our topic is five whys. Astrology isn't what you think. Okay, so in these five points, I just want to cover some of the misnomers or confusions about astrology and also help you enrich your connection, if you are interested or. Or help you understand better if traditionally you thought it was a lot of rubbish. All right, so number one, let's dive in. I'm a clarity queen, and the first thing I'd like to do is just to distinguish between astrology and astronomy. Okay? So astrological aspects, all right, so being able to see stars in the heavens, being able to look at at us in context with the greater universe or with our near galaxy. Well, in our modern ish times it has been considered very important from for example, the 8th, 9th, 10th centuries. And Queen Elizabeth I, she was very big into astrology and she had a private astrologer called John Dee who also would support the concept of communicating with higher consciousness and with the greater universe. So Queen Elizabeth first was very interested in this. Now astrology is there for understanding that collection of planets at the time we're born, and also looking at how when the planets move, how they align with us, how they stimulate our consciousness, how they influence us, and also how we can co create with their energy, because every planet has an energy.
A couple of decades ago, NASA sent a probe and this probe recorded the sound of planets when they passed by. So you can get recordings of what Jupiter sounds like, for example, what Saturn or what Neptune sound like. So yes, planets are energy beings, all right, and they have sacred cycles and they have a big sort of cocktail in the sky where they all meet up and they all circulate and they all connect in various ways. So astrology is all about understanding that energy, understanding the creative potential, the opportunities, how we as human or as man connects with the godly unity, if you like, of the greater universe, or how we are a child of that greater universe, and how we can understand the gifts of the alignments of the different planets in our particular astrological chart or our astrology imprint.
Now, astronomy became a lot more popular when the Royal Society, so in the 17th, 18th century talked about very much the science of form, okay, and also what stars were where. And there was a big investment in the science of measurement, of understanding in practical terms the laws of the universe, and of course, in mapping the massiveness of different planets and the orbits of them. So Astronomy is dedicated to understanding the more physical elements in the heavens. I'm not saying there are plenty of energy fields that are measured. There might not be a planet discovered as yet. But it is astronomy definitely about the measurement more than the the understanding. So of course astronomy also gives us those asteroid alerts if it thinks that there are heavenly bodies moving around our galaxy that could actually bump into our planet in a unhelpful way. So we get the asteroid alerts. But it's also that astronomy is definitely looking to analyze and to understand, as I said, the physiognomy.
Okay, so number two, what do astrology charts do for you? Well, another thing I want to say is personally astrology has two branches, I believe. One where people align an astrology chart with a type of fate that you're given this sort of astrological map and as you move through the decades of your experience in life, then you follow that map, but you don't necessarily in the fate sense. And I describe fate as not having a choice, like you're in alignment with a certain path because that's what you have, that's what you've been given and that's what you are walking. So that's one side of astrology believing that there's no particular choices that can influence greatly your fate, that your fate is there and you aren't personally responsible in the sense of you can't really change it.
Now I'm not in that branch of astrology, I'm not criticizing it, if that's your belief, then fabulous. But for me in my work, I believe that the planets, as I've said, are an energy and that we're an energy and that we come in with certain distributions to learn from. So I personally believe that we're here to build a destiny, as I call it so. And a destiny for me is us consciously growing, transforming and wanting to take responsibility for a life well lived and for a life where we can find the wisdoms and self awareness to build the best version of ourselves along with the planets and co creating with them.
So my number two is yes, you can have charts where people read that it is a fixed state situation, a fixed fate, and that is what's going to happen. And that's the only way it'll happen. But I personally don't agree with that. I believe that there are endless manifestations of how your path can unfold. There are some big planets at different gateways. Let's talk about for example, Mercury retrograde, quite famous, all the electrical stuff can go wrong or you can miss appointments or you can get held up in traffic. So a poor flow of the Mercury, of the, the winged messenger energy at that, or a Saturn return, that's quite famous too. That's when Saturn comes to call between 25, 26 years and 31 years. So it returns to the same sign as when you were born. And so you have a Saturn return. And a lot of people kind of, they shudder a little bit for that, thinking that it's going to be a negative or bad time in one's life when actually the Saturn return. For me, again, I believe it's Saturn sort of rocking up, going, what have you learned? How's your wisdom going? Are you wisdom harvesting? Are you applying, have you been making conscious choices? And the degree to which you enjoy your Saturn return is always going to be a function of whether you're willing to learn, whether you're willing to adapt. So for me, number two, astrology is all about self learning, transformation and doing it with the planets. All right, so you can be in a full moon cycle and be incredibly creative, but you don't need to go barking at the moon necessarily or go a bit nuts. But it is of course important to understand how the universe is configured and what cycle you're in, because if you don't know, then you're not necessarily able to align with that energy and to, you know, benefit from it and to support wise and self loving transformations.
Okay, number three.
So I believe that astrology can also support us in discovering past life influences and that our chart can hold certain keys to how we were in previous lifetimes. Now a lot of people, of course, it depends on whether you believe in past lives, whether you believe, believe that there is a possibility that we have more of a spherical energy, you know, that all times coexist and that different spiritual systems could give us nudges about what is important for us to be looking at, to address, to realize that we need to perhaps let go of or we need to realize we can't learn from that particular belief or condition anymore.
So for me, I think astrology is very good at supporting us in identifying past lives that could have been quite influential in our beliefs. And those beliefs then become relevant or resonant or required to be healed in the now, so they come to the surface of our life and so we start experiencing those particular aspects and circumstances. So astrology can help you unlock those cosmic nudges and you know, use that energy wisely rather than perhaps feel a victim of it or feel sort of battered about by it. And rush into your head and get sort of fearful and limited about no, you know, particular helpful solutions or believing that you've just got to struggle. So it is for astrology to say, hey, there's always an alternative, there's always a planet to help, there's always a path forward and there's always a way to co create with the universal influences to support of course, a very productive, for example, life crossroads or the very productive harvesting of alternatives, potentialities. So number three, I believe astrology is very supportive for helping us with healing past lives.
Okay, so number four, it is I believe quite important for us as well with astrology to recognize the spiritual tools that astrology will constantly, I think, invoke in our understandings. And one of them is of course, faith. Now as I mentioned before with Queen Elizabeth I and John Dee in that era, all right, in the Renaissance and the 15th, 16th century, faith was really, really important. Obviously it was a time of great, you know, plague, disaster, wars and pretty violent times and a lot of severe and shocking illness. So faith was a part of daily life. And for me, I think astrology holds that unique relationship with the tool of faith because it's constantly showing us that we're not just human, we have an immaterial divine aspect, if you will, or a higher consciousness aspect. And we have a lot of opportunities through the wisdoms of astrology to align with that. So if you were to imagine, Michelo Angelo, the Sistine Chapel, the famous painting there, where you've got the God reaching and the human reaching out to touch the fingertip of God. So I believe astrology is very much there to help us understand the material benefits, the immaterial benefits of faith, and also accept thing that not everything in our world is material. And we know that because we want to be loved, we want to feel respect, we want to be able to be self loving. All of these qualities are immaterial. So astrology is always saying you can touch God, but you do need to understand the cycles and flows of the greater universe and the energy and how it's attempting to help you, even if you think it's totally against you. Alrighty. Okay, last one today, number five is astrology can really help with national identity astrology, which is what I call it. So a birth chart for a nation. Okay, so for example, there's a new birth chart for the nation of Germany because Germany went in to reincorporating and reunifying with eastern Germany in relatively modern times for us in the 80s.
So each country has its own chart and one of the lesser known aspects of astrology is that the bigger planets, and also this country, astrology or national astrology, it can really show us how living in that country can influence us and the trends or the developments or the transformations that that country will undergo. So if we look globally, one of our biggest transits now for the next 17, 18 years is going to be Pluto in Aquarius. So we're already seeing the impact of that in America. And we're seeing how Pluto in Aquarius is very much about the rising of people power and empowerment of the general population and also any disparity and polarities between leadership, ruling the technological technocrats, the those who are perhaps very wealthy versus the people who are struggling and need help. So astrology has the energy of these consciousness shifts in it. And if we look at planets like Pluto, because it's so transformational and all about birth, death, resurrection, dare I say taxes, it's all about the energies and the transformations that we're going to be undergoing. So astrology can really help us with the big picture wake up calls with the elements of the old paradigm and the new paradigm and how to get into that.
Another example is of course Neptune in Aries, which is going to be again a long transit that a lot of us are going to be living generationally.
So yes, astrology has a lot to offer in the development of our consciousness as a humanity and in our chosen countries and chosen homes. Well, I hope you've had a little think perhaps of where astrology is in your life. Yes, you've got to have faith. Yes, you've got to believe in the immaterial. Yes, it is a journey of energies and yes, it's a journey of both the human part and the higher consciousness or divine part of ourselves.
If you would like more information about Pluto in Aquarius, I've got some really great articles on the blog for that particular subject. Also the impact upon the United States because the United States has Natalie, a moon in Aquarius. So we're already seeing the change or transformation engine really chugging forth in America. And also the Neptune in Aries and Saturn in Aries transits which are here for the years of 25 and onwards and, and to see how they are going to be transforming our daily lives and the motivations inside of ourselves.
