Episode Transcript
[00:00:02] Welcome to the Making of youf. I'm Alexandria, the founder of youf Transformation Hub and the Mastery Project. And in this podcast today, I'm going off piste. All right, this should have been episode 24. And now this is an extra bonus episode, and we're going to be looking at five ways the new Pope could change the Catholic Church.
[00:00:24] So I'm going to put magically in the transformational alchemy of my work. I'm going to put episode 24 into episode 43. So watch this space. It's still going to happen if you were hanging out for that particular episode.
[00:00:38] Okay, so what's the new Pope going to be? Well, number one, I'm going to handle the transition energy. I work with seven sacred systems, and I look at the consciousness and the initiations, the struggles, the successes, the potential, creativity and purpose.
[00:00:56] And so for number one, of course, Pope Francis is remembered for being a modest, beautifully kind and supportive Pope who definitely was interested in raising up communities that are struggling in poverty, disenfranchised, or in great struggles of difficulty within the congregation.
[00:01:22] So he was a man of simplicity. He was not particularly interested in the great pomp and the great wealth of the Church. He was actually interested in reforming.
[00:01:35] So for this transition, you are going to see quite, I think, a different but gradual change, because Pope Francis was, of course, very much in the selfless mold and very much in the modesty mold. And so he didn't, you know, didn't have the big Vatican apartments, and he lived very much for the people.
[00:01:59] So I think Pope Leo the 14th is actually going to shift, and this is quite traditional in the Vatican values. What happens is you can get often a very modest Pope and a very people pope, followed by a Pope who is perhaps more institutionally orientated or combining three roles, such as the Pope is a politician, the Pope, and as a responsible or sovereign or religious figure in. In the world, and of course, the Pope of the people. So I firstly think that Pope Leo XIV is going to go in that direction. He's going to be more a combination of the roles of the Pope rather than exclusively focusing on one particular role.
[00:02:45] So he's still. He's. He's a Virgo son. He's got Venus and Mars in Virgo. We don't know his time of birth, so we can't construct an exact chart, but he definitely has great eye for detail, a great service commitment, and also, I think he is very much interested in looking at what is going into things. So I'm going to talk about the micromanaging a little bit later. But we also have Pope Leo literally made in his own image and in alignment with the name he's chosen because he has four major planets in Leo.
[00:03:20] So there is definitely a part of him wanting to give joy, enthusiasm, the magic of faith and to start putting on more of a show and being very much aware of publicizing the joy of unconditional love and the importance of faith at this time in the development of the humanity. So I think he's going to bust out some beautiful service energy, but combine it with a joy of service and a joy of walking in the loving steps of Jesus and in building unconditionally loving communities.
[00:03:59] Now, in my work, I believe faith is a state of being. I don't believe you need to be religious to have faith. I think having faith is part of being religious. But if you want to have a particular religious figurehead such as Jesus, such as Buddha, such as Mahavira, etc, etc, then you're going to be looking at of course, the teachings of that particular path and how higher consciousness or how that unconditionally loving state of being is established through the wisdoms of who has walked that path previously.
[00:04:37] So I think Pope Leo the 14th is definitely going to be walking the path of joy and he is wanting to teach, I believe, in that balanced perspective, moving out of the very devoted and selfless energy more into a balance of a modern day perception of service and faith.
[00:05:00] Okay, number two. Well, I think he's going to reinvigorate the values of the Church. I think he's going to be very much interested in beauty, in the gentle strength, soft power. I think he's going to be a lot more balanced. He might not come across as being so feminine. I think the best way in the sense of feminine energy because Francis was so gentle. I think the best way to describe Pope Leo XIV would be that he's going to be kind of a cuddly Leo patriarch. So he's going to have a lot of attention to detail. Might even be a tad pedantic. All right.
[00:05:41] With the Virgo, but he's actually backed with a lot of the Leo energy.
[00:05:46] And I think he's going to love traditional values. I don't see him wanting to reform or place ladies in big positions of power in the Church. I think that's not going to change.
[00:06:00] I think he's going to have roles of traditional family. But also again, he's going to become and start moving forward in this sort of regeneration and re enthusing and sense of Aspiration. I think we're going to see input on a show. Literally. I think he's going to be much more charismatic figure, but still be a person of the people. But he's going to like to perform. He's going to be a lot more extrovert. And I could even see the Pope going on tour. This particular Pope, I think. I mean, popes do travel, but I think Pope Leo XIV is perhaps going to do tours of Italy, for example, or he's going to get a lot more travel in his particular remit. Okay. So I think he might be looking for a little bit of a faith drive.
[00:06:55] Being American, of course, he has the opportunity there with his values to look at all of the wonderful ways to expand the faith.
[00:07:04] And I think he is, though, having been in The Vatican since 1984, essentially, I think he is very much a man of the Vatican and a man of the Church and the kind of company got.
[00:07:16] So I don't necessarily believe that he isn't going to woo the American Catholic community and that he's not going to do well for them, but I think he's definitely going to be quite centralist and quite present in the Vatican, in the center of it, and not necessarily have huge sort of leanings towards America. I could see him doing a tour of America, yes. But I think definitely that's all part of his desire to perform in the sense of. To be seen, to enliven faith, to enliven the spiritual life and to say, it's just, you know, it's really, really important today and becoming more and more important.
[00:07:56] So we could see a little bit of a reinvigoration or even a mini renaissance of the Vatican with Pope Leo xiv.
[00:08:05] Okay, number three, let's look at finances.
[00:08:09] Now, as we know, the Catholic Church has been under a lot of scandal and criticism in the last 30 years, and it has had a lot of financial scrutiny, which hasn't necessarily looked very good. So under Pope Leo xiv, I don't really think he's that interested in reforming the.
[00:08:31] Or accelerating the existing reforms. I think he could be quite extreme in a bizarre way, like his personal relationship with the congregation. He could be quite, as I said, invigorated and. And quite a brilliant speaker about value and worthiness. And where's the balance between devotion to God and devotion to self in the sense of the material and practical aspects of our daily lives? So I think he's going to back away from the polar. The polarities of selflessness and selfishness. I think he's going to be definitely much more in the middle way. Why do I say that? Well, he also has a big chunk of Libra in his chart. And so on the high side, this will bring a greater balance and less polarity, but also it will bring a reinvigoration, in my opinion, in all of the values and how to value and how to put spirituality back into our lives to be valued.
[00:09:32] So is he going to be looking at where all the money is going? I think he's as a Virgo, wanting to know where the money is going and to make sure that it's conscientiously spent. I think he could be looking to invest in. In art. He could be looking to invest in the beautiful and magical role of the Church in people's lives.
[00:09:50] But do I believe he's going to enact fundamental financial reforms? No, I don't. I think he's going to be a company man, and I think he is going to do enough that is required on that road. But I don't really see him adapting hugely in the sense of pushing forward on financial transparency.
[00:10:11] We can see the alignment with Pope Leo xiv because I think he's capable of being both global and also drawing in the energies of the Vatican State and of course, Italy, and of course the European and the North African and global aspects of Catholicism. I think he's extremely well placed. It's almost like he's a. He's both an American and an Italian. And I think that is bringing the Church great comfort at this point and enthusiasm for his tenure because he can utilize the. The global perspective as well as the European centric one.
[00:10:51] All right, number four, micromanaging. Well, let's look at some challenges that the Pope might face. Well, yes, he could be a little bit, what can we say, such a company man that actually he ends up becoming first and foremost a company man rather than a standout Pope. Now, I think a lot of people will go, but I think he's going to be really good and he's going to talk well and he's going to inspire people. And I agree with that. I think he is potentially going to be an inspirational figure. But I do believe that he will allow the system to some degree to. To be influencing his decisions. I don't think he's going to be a rebellious standout Pope. And if it is the aspect of rebellion, I think it's more going to be an appearance of rebellion rather than him wanting to build his sort of legacy as a Pope as being very different or very individual in its foundations. So I do think he's a company man. I do think he is very much part of the Vatican cogs.
[00:12:01] And on the downside in his personal chart, he does struggle to make the big decisions. He might overthink or he might literally be spending a huge amount of time balancing both sides of the equation. And as a result, the system sort of steps in, goes, we need a decision, and that decision is kind of made.
[00:12:21] So I am a little bit concerned for the Pope that he will be much more appearance orientated, but potentially have a lack of, of perseverance. If he wants to define his role, very obviously, if at all he has that will. I don't really see that.
[00:12:39] So if we do see him as being standout, I think it's going to be because he is an incredibly, potentially a very good orator. Very personable, very charismatic, but also nurturing, kindly, and even, can I say, seductive. Like, for example, the former politician and British Prime Minister Tony Blair. He's got a kind of seductive capability to reach the audience. And he's incredibly believable and incredibly sincere for a lot of people. So I think we need to look at the Pope as being very much part, as I said, part politician, part spiritual leader and sovereign faith and part Pope of the people.
[00:13:29] Okay, so that was number four. So number five. Right. Then what are his traits that could actually drag him down?
[00:13:37] Well, I think the new Pope, in his own way, could be a bit impatient.
[00:13:44] He could also have issues where he's being steered by the greater bureaucracy and the Vatican and actually have a few tantrums over that and feel that perhaps he's a little bit maneuvered too much for his liking. I think he's got strong passions. He's a. He's a very grounded man in what he likes and what he doesn't like. And he has got quite big material appetites. So I think he's going to love life. I think he's going to love the role. I think he likes to live large, secretly.
[00:14:15] But one of his biggest problems is that he might basically be looking to be a role and not really put his heart into it in the fullest degree. He is quite a secretive person. I think there's a side of him that he may never reveal and we may never know. And also I think he does fundamentally have quite some insecurities about what's happening, but he's really strongly backed by the system around him.
[00:14:48] So, yes. Is he ambitious? Yes. Is he discerning about what he's talking about in his consciousness? Yes. But I think we're going to end with the biggest question is if he's going to reform service, bring more joy and more abundance and worthiness into religion and rebalance that. We just need to know, is he serving himself? Is he serving his own highest good? Is he serving the Vatican's highest good? Or is he serving the highest good of all? And I really hope for all the Catholics out there that it's all three of those and that he is able to bring together all of those roles which would bring the Church some way closer to a more modern representation and more alignment in these spiritual times.
