Okay, so today's episode is dedicated to five ways to transform rigidity into flexibility.
Okay, so my number one, why do we get rigid? Why do we become less and less flexible? Well, I would like to say for number one is basically we are always going to be transforming our fear of change into the fuel for creativity, discovery, enjoyment and the sense of purpose and general fulfillment.
So my number one is we fear change. All right, so what do we do about letting go of that?
Well, first and foremost, I believe that fear is simply fuel. And so the best way to look at what we fear is to step back and to say it's just unknown. All right? We haven't got the experience quite yet of the that particular step forward. And so we need the tool of faith, we need the tool of self love and we need the state of balance to step forward into that unknown rather than to stand on the edge and to fear it.
So when we become rigid, there is often a situation where we just have run out of trust, we've run out of the ability to be self loving or we're just tired and. And basically we need to step back, get back into balance and sometimes that is rest. Sometimes it is definitely the requirement to refresh our perspective and to look at our life differently.
So my number one is if you want to address any rigidity in your life or if you truly want to say I don't want to build it in the first place, then really work to have a perspective where you see all of the choices in your life as being your choice choices. All right, first and foremost and to work to choose from a point of balance rather than a point of reaction. And also to be very aware of the fact that when you characterize something as bad and you haven't even tried it, you're going to be contributing to rigidity.
So try and look at the flow of the unknown as simply a flow of energy. And that energy is infinitely capable and it's up to you choices as to how you create with it.
Okay, so number two, what's another reason for rigidity? Well, sometimes it is also resistance. Now what does resistance mean? Well, literally we might have a very mental perception, I. E. Be in our heads and go, I want to do it one way. I Don't want to do it any other way. And so we get conditioned or we get very comfortable doing our life in a certain way fashion.
Now, if we're going to do things repetitively in the same fashion, of course we are going to create our energy in one way. And it's like we're sort of digging a road, if you like, that we're constantly walking down. Now, if the way we've chosen is one of great wisdom and balance, then that is going to constantly evolve and it's highly likely that we're going to really enjoy our lives.
But if we have created a road where we're kind of avoiding things we don't want to change, we don't want to learn anything, or we literally are very fearful of what could happen if we change the way we're doing things. Of course we're going to build up rigidity.
So the key issue in number two is if you're resisting, it's generally because you're in your head and you're not in your heart. Mind alignment, yes, one of my favourite topics. So to dilute resistance, the best way is to jump back into your heart center, take a break and say to yourself, look, I'm not really running out of energy.
I'm not having to do things the same way day in, day out, because if I've got the energy, I can look at investing in alternatives. Now, they might not all work, but I can look at breaking it up, doing it differently, embracing a wider perspective and more ways to move forward. And, hey, those innovations can easily bring ease and a greater degree of fulfillment.
So my number two is, please make sure that when you are walking in your life that you are working not only with the planning and the logistics and administration of your life, of course, the grounded time management and all of the aspects of practically getting the job done, but you're remembering to also be in your heart center and say, what do I truly want? What would be really fulfilling and how can I connect with the unending, unique connection to my infinite potential which I have by being me? No one else has got what I've got.
All right, everyone's got this unending connection, but they've all got it in their unique way way. So how can I use that and how can I keep that energy flowing not only into my life, command it in a balanced way, but also combine it with my practical and grounded approach in my daily life and in my physical experience of progress.
So when we do that, we are less likely to become rigid because we're going to say to ourselves, I've always got energy, I've always got a choice. I'm not a victim of my life and I can do this in lots of different ways. And often when we're going to co create with others, we're going to need a variety of ways so that we can create effective partnerships.
So my number two is please look at your energy connection as unending. It's always there. But you need to choose to get into your heart, to get into that connectedness, to download in your way with the universe and to look at that original co creation space.
So you've always got the fuel and then you are feeling that energy flow and feeling that you can risk and feeling that you can do things differently.
Okay, so number three. Well, a lot of the times in our life we need to have a creative refresh. So one of the best ways to achieve this is literally to mix it up to ask for help or to look at our code creation balance. So what do I mean by that? Well, sometimes we literally need to step back and go, I am hitting my head against the brick wall. I'm going to become really rigid and very perhaps prideful in the unhelpful way. Insist on doing it one way. And everyone else is going not so much. We don't think that that's very appropriate.
So the key with stepping back is that you can allow everything to go, you know, just really relax back in to a more balanced perspective rather than for or pushing your life, which causes often the rebound effect where the energy that is forcing ends up building that resistance or rigidity.
So the key with stepping back is you're letting go of that attachment, that persistence that is actually a force, not a persistence that is building choices or building alternatives. It's just reinforcing stagnancy or a lack of choice.
So stepping back is one way to creatively refresh. You can also say, hey, am I trying to do this all on my own? And that is one of the ways that we can become very rigid in our lives because we just are too prideful or unaware even that we are sort of powering on regardless. And we might have left everyone else behind us or we've actually literally not asked ourselves, hmm, maybe I need some help.
So in a creative refresh to get some alternative insights, to ask other people's opinions doesn't make you lost, all right? And it certainly doesn't mean that you're going to be overtaken by what everyone else thinks. It is an alternative perspective. And you can sit there and listen and then go, hey, does that really work? Is that going to help me get more flexible in this circumstance and give me more ways to approach whatever I'm looking to create or be successful in.
So my number three is get yourself a creative refresh, get back into balance and recognize you're trying to do it all yourself. Have you got into a polarity where you're forcing things and you've left everyone else behind?
Now, of course, with rigidity as well, we can have a situation where we fear learning. Because guess what my number four is. Rigidity comes because we hate being wrong.
Now actually, it's not us, it's not our gorgeous big hearted humanness that hates being wrong. It's our ego. All right, Our ego does like to know. It hangs out in our mind and says, gosh, I want to make everything that I know work. Even if actually it's time to learn differently or it's time to expand beyond that particular truth or fact or experience in my life.
So we can often get a bit rigid because we don't want to learn. And so, or we feel that we've had a lot of experience in our lives. And so, hey, everyone needs to learn from us. And so it gets rather polarized and rather all or nothing.
So my number four is, if you want to reduce rigidity in life, please always be open hearted and open minded. And the reason is because I don't care if a person comes into your life and they're 5 years old or they're 55 or they're 95, everyone has something to contribute because everyone around you in your life is going to be a reflection of that beautiful unity of energy that starts in your heart center, starts with your unique connection and then it's sort of leaking through everyone else in your reality as they're reflecting to you what you most need to learn. And one of the greatest aspects in our world is why does energy keep transforming? Because part of that journey is the willingness to choose to learn, the willingness to say, everything's expanding and I'd like to be hitching my energy, into that flow and moving into the rising stardom of whatever I want to do and to have that increased sense of fulfillment.
And so if we're going to do that, of course we've got to be willing to learn.
So even if you are a specialist in a certain field or in a certain subject, just beware of the know. All the constant desire to know that ends up getting us into a box. Because we reckon we know everything and our Ego keeps reinforcing that and can often discourage us because we're inside the box. And the more we're inside the box, we feel comfortable and as a result, we end up learning less and less until we go into stagnation.
So if you feel that you are defending rather regularly what you think you know or what you think is the most important in your life, just give yourself an internal check about are you still willing to learn? And are you.
Is your ego affronted by someone else younger telling you how to do something or someone that you don't feel knows enough about what is going on?
So my number four is please don't listen to your ego and stop learning. Please don't think that any journey both of exploration, creativity, of experience is ever going to be really ended. All right? It's continuous journey and that's what makes it fun because it's always changing and we're always getting to explore and getting to discover that greatness and that fulfillment.
Okay, my number five today is being flexible isn't swinging from one extreme to the other. And I think sometimes in our lives we get very tired. As I started with this episode, we run out of energy because we are rushing out of our balance point and we're either trying to calm down, shall we say, the demanding in our world, or we're rushing another direction because we're hearing perhaps things that we don't like or we don't understand or are unfamiliar. And so we think we're a victim of our circumstances.
So my number five is if you want to always be flexible, really work to listen to your life, whether it's things you don't want to hear or you don't believe are correct. Just listen, allow them to flow. All right? You don't have to like them, you don't have to agree with them. But remaining flexible is allowing that interaction with your world.
